High Desert Racing Association’s Eldorado Fireworks 500 July 1-8

A Full Week of Off-Road Racing Excitement

Plus the All American BBQ Festival to Cap it off July 6-8

RENO, Nev. (May 21, 2012) – The High Desert Racing Association’s Eldorado Fireworks 500 race, sponsored by Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Monster Energy, will redefine what an off-road event can be for racers and fans when it comes to the Tahoe-Reno Motorplex July 1-8. The HDRA staff has planned a long list of special events to take place the entire week of the event including an off-road expo in Sparks to kick things off on June 30 and contingency and tech held under the famous Reno arch July 6.

Fans will be treated to an incredible spectating experience on top of a long, graded level plateau, which overlooks the main pit area, the qualifying loop and a good portion of the racecourse. The layout of the course is in a cloverleaf shape – great for spectators who will see each vehicle several times on every lap. Additionally, there will be hot food, cold beverages and a beer garden at the event.

Special room rates are available at the Eldorado Hotel Casino and Silver Legacy Resort Casino. “This will be the event of the year for Reno,” said Rick Murdock, vice president of sales and marketing for the Eldorado. “In addition to the race we will be having the All American BBQ Festival with some great food and free live entertainment, it’s going to be an unbelievable weekend.”

To cap off the week of off-road racing and events, Reno’s All American BBQ Festival will be held July 6-8 in downtown Reno. This post Fourth of July street festival will include great barbequed food, street vendors and two stages featuring rocking cover bands like Petty Theft, a salute to Tom Petty; Van Halen tribute band, Hot For Teacher; Cream of Clapton; Skynnyn Lynnyrd; Chicago Tribute Authority; and Straight Country, a salute to George Strait.
